According to Goal.com, Iniesta acknowledged that it would be wonderful to one day manage Barcelona, the club where he spent his playing career.

Tribuna.com published an excerpt from Iniesta's interview with Sport. He said that currently he does not view Barcelona's technical director role as a clear objective in his career.

When asked whether his coaching path might eventually lead him back to Barcelona, Iniesta replied: "Fate will decide what happens. Obviously, if I continue my coaching career, it would be wonderful to return to Barcelona, because Barcelona means a great deal to me, but I don't see that as a clear objective."

Iniesta also compared this new phase of his coaching career to the objectives he set when he joined Barcelona's academy as a player.

He explained: "I've always said that my dream was to become a professional footballer. When I arrived at Barcelona, I had clear goals and ambitions in mind: to succeed with the first team. Those goals were very clear to me."

Now, he prefers to move forward without a specific endpoint. He said: "Time will reveal everything, but honestly I'm really enjoying this new beginning. Not just because I'm a coach, but because of everything that comes with it."
