According to Roman media, Roma's top choice for a striker in January is Endrick, with Gittens and other players also on the shortlist.

Ghisolfi has promised Gasperini that they will sign a striker who has been missing for 15 months in January. The young Real Madrid player is the top priority, but many other options are being pursued simultaneously.

They have made such a promise before. This time, it must be fulfilled, so that the hard work that has already borne fruit on the pitch is not wasted; the team still needs the finishing touch to perfect the cake of the centenary celebration. The striker Gasperini has been seeking for 15 months—someone with pace, acceleration, physical strength, and goal-scoring ability—could truly arrive in January. This comes from Ghisolfi, who now also manages Trigoria's finances following Moro's departure. In any case, Roma's pursuit of a winger continues, and will resume with names the club tried to secure at the last moment of the transfer window. For example, Raum, after some hesitation, ultimately fell through before the deadline, mainly due to timing constraints. The player's quality remains, but in the first half of this season, the German has been pushed out at Stuttgart by new arrival El-Namadi. His limited playing time (just 83 minutes in the Bundesliga) may have lowered his price from the 35 million euros asked for over a month ago. The situation with Gittens is similar; he remains at Chelsea but with a very marginal role, having not played a single minute in the Premier League so far.

Roma has funds available to invest, but the club prefers to strengthen itself with an approach similar to how they acquired Malen, meaning a loan first and then a permanent transfer next June. This is also why Endrick remains at the top of the list: Real Madrid could let him go, but after spending 60 million euros on him, they prefer to keep their options open first. Sports director Ghisolfi has been in contact with the Roc Nation agency for some time and is not worried about Milan's attempts to intervene. The Brazilian striker has already spoken with Brazilian coach Ancelotti and told him that he has reached a verbal agreement with Gasp. If Mourinho was the problem last summer, then in January, "The Special One" should no longer insist on keeping him; after all, Mourinho has only allowed him to play 4 minutes in the first half of this season.

A new name is Kvaratskhelia from Frosinone, who has contributed 3 goals and 1 assist in his first 5 Serie A matches. Frosinone president Stirpe has not yet received an official offer for this "Kvara replacement"—"just informal talks," he said—but is still waiting for a real offer to come. If an offer reaches 20 to 25 million euros, Frosinone will waver. Gasperini already knows how to use him in his attacking system, adding unpredictability, physicality, and dynamism to the team. Luiz Henrique also possesses these qualities; this other Brazilian's transfer fell through at the end of August due to banking issues related to Russia. With early planning and proper documentation at the opening of the winter transfer window, Roma could bring him back from Zenit and get ahead of their competitors. Both he and Endrick are left-footed players, while Kvaratskhelia and Raum are more right-footed. With Dybala and Soler left-footed, Roma still needs another player who can rotate on the opposite flank, continuing to add "reverse-footed" players to the squad.

However, Trigoria's transfer market, despite appearing busy and constantly shifting strategy—for instance, Greenwood, then Summerville, then Nusa, and finally Castro, all very different types of players—also reveals a deeper need: they need stronger players to improve overall quality and competitiveness. Gasperini's theory is: the more good players, the better. He believes there is always a way to put good players on the pitch together and make them play effectively. For him, this is precisely a matter of "more is better".
