In an interview with Chelsea TV, Palmer recalled some unforgettable moments he experienced while playing for Chelsea. Proud of his contract extension through 2034, the number 10 player for Chelsea continues to write his success story at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer has been on an exciting journey at Chelsea over the past three years. The club describes him as someone whose words carry weight, and since joining in 2023, he has become one of the most talented players in Chelsea's history thanks to several memorable moments he has produced. In recent years, fans, teammates, coaches, and other football observers have been fortunate to witness Palmer's qualities. The club even showed videos and photos of some of his key moments and asked him to reflect on each one individually.

On his first day as a Chelsea player

Palmer said: "I remember feeling very strange. I had never left Manchester before. Then I came here. It was the final day of the transfer window and everything was very fast. I kept thinking, 'What's happening?' Looking back now, it feels like it was just yesterday. Everything changed, but I adapted quickly and just wanted to play in matches."

Palmer scored his first goal for Chelsea from the penalty spot in the match against Burnley.

On that goal

Palmer said: "I just knew I had to put the ball in the net. It's straightforward. Actually, Starling passed it directly to me. It wasn't planned. After scoring, I finally felt relieved. I was able to open my goalscoring record and felt ready to move forward."

In Chelsea's final match of 2023, Palmer scored his famous 'cool as ice' goal and won the Premier League Player of the Month award.

On winning the Premier League Player of the Month award

Palmer said: "We had a match postponed before Christmas and the game on the 27th was rescheduled. So it was my first match back. The match kicked off at 12:30 and I was really happy. That Premier League Player of the Month award was a great way to start a story, wasn't it?"

Palmer scored twice in extra time in the match where Manchester United defeated Manchester City 4-3.

Recalling that match

Palmer said: "That match was crazy. I don't think I slept that night. It was really intense, and Stamford Bridge was electric. I think the team's fourth goal is my favourite goal."

Palmer achieved the fastest Premier League hat-trick in history in the match against Everton.

Palmer said: "I felt like I was at my peak at that moment. Everything was flowing smoothly. I should have scored five or six goals. I remember missing one opportunity and getting frustrated. But after scoring the fourth goal, I felt good."

On winning the 2023/24 Premier League Young Player of the Year award

Palmer said: "I took home the Young Player of the Year award. But that's how it goes. Individual awards are nice. When you win them at a young age, it feels better. Now I'm more focused on the team. If the team wins and you perform well, individual awards naturally follow. The first season flew by, but it was an amazing season. Both on and off the pitch, I've changed a lot and feel much more mature."

(Note: Foden from Manchester City won the official 2023/24 Premier League Player of the Year award.)

Palmer scored four goals in Chelsea's opening fixture against Brighton in September 2024.

Recalling that match

Palmer said: "That was really unusual. On match day, I went to bed at 5 a.m. I'm not sure if I couldn't sleep or what. But I only slept that late. I scored four goals and missed another chance. At the time, I thought I was in a different world. But my dad didn't think so. He said if I'd gone to bed earlier, I could have scored six. I said if I'd gone to bed earlier, I'd want to score all four of those chances."

On the penalty he scored against Tottenham at their away ground

Palmer said: "That's quite interesting. It was a natural reaction. I didn't think much about it. I just shot. That was my calmest moment. That goal was particularly good at that stadium."

In the UEFA Europa Conference League final, Palmer provided two assists, helping Chelsea secure victory.

Palmer said: "In the first half, we didn't play well. We needed something special. I felt that was my responsibility. I've played in some finals before, but winning a final with Chelsea is amazing. These are great memories."

On switching to the number 10 jersey before the Club World Cup

Palmer said: "Getting the number 10 jersey was special, and I thought it would be good to wear it. Since I wore number 10 when I was young, I thought it would be a good thing."

In the Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain, Palmer scored twice and provided one assist, helping Chelsea win the trophy.

Recalling that match

Palmer said: "That was incredible. New York, the stadium, everything made it one of the best days. I felt like I could show the world what kind of player I am."

When Palmer saw his photo with the Champions League trophy, Final Player of the Match award, and Best Player of the Tournament award, he said: "Cover me in gold. That feeling is amazing, friend, just amazing."

In a match against Wolverhampton, Palmer scored a hat-trick while playing through injuries.

On this achievement, Palmer said: "Yes, I was thrilled to score a hat-trick. It felt especially good to do it while playing through an injury."
