The West Ham squad were greeted by a familiar face on Wednesday after Joe Cole came to watch them train in Miami, Florida.

Cole, who enjoyed two spells at Upton Park during his career, took time out to have a chat with manager David Moyes and some of the players as the club continued with their warm-weather training in North America.

The Premier League outfit have been out in the states since the beginning of this week after having no game to play this weekend due to several FA Cup fixtures taking priority.

And it appears Moyes' men have been enjoying their time away from England after they were spotted at the beach playing with an American Football earlier on Wednesday.

However, it will be back to business when they return to England later this week as they find themselves deep in a relegation battle.

Cole knows all too well the feeling of being relegated with West Ham and will look to inspire some of the current squad to avoid history repeating itself.

The ex-England international was a part of the squad that failed to beat the drop in 2003, before he secured a  move to Chelsea later that summer.

West Ham currently find themselves three points above the drop zone with only eight games left to play.
