Tammy Abraham to make his mark In two seasons in the Championship, Abraham has demonstrated that he's a superb marksman, but having failed to show his quality at Swansea City during a loan spell, he remains unproven in the Premier League. Having been retained by Chelsea this term, and likely to play a role under new coach Frank Lampard in light of the club's transfer ban, Abraham has an ideal opportunity to prove that he can thrive in the top flight. He remains eligible for Nigeria, having only represented England in friendly matches, and is it too much to ask that, by the season's end, he's leading the line for both the Blues and the Super Eagles!? Bafana Bafana to appoint a local coach Safa need to appoint a local Bafana Bafana coach this time around, following Stuart Baxter's exit. I would like to see Pitso Mosimane get a second chance because he has gained important experience in the Caf Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns, which can prepare him for the international qualifiers. Rest for the weary I'm hoping that Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah get extra rest during the English domestic cups so they're fresh during the Premier League this season, because they'll likely be exhausted after the World Cup and Afcon in the last two summers. Alex Iwobi to take centre stage Alex Iwobi was mainly deployed as a wide player at Arsenal, where there were question marks over his finishing and final ball. However, most agree that he has undoubted quality, and he may now get the chance to show it at Everton. Hopefully, Marco Silva will use the Nigeria international in-field and allow Iwobi to truly show his quality. With the ability to beat a man and pick a pass, playing centrally may ensure we see the best of Iwobi at Goodison Park. Thando Jacobs

For Victor Wanyama to return to top form The past season was not a memorable one for Kenya captain Victor Wanyama at Tottenham Hotspur, as he struggled to keep his place in the starting eleven owing to a knee injury. Wanyama returned to action during the Africa Cup of Nations, and despite failing to steer the Harambee Stars past the group stage, his presence and command in the midfield caught the eye. With Wanyama insisting he will stay to fight for his place at Spurs, one will hope the player regains his form and can retake his place in the Londoners' midfield. Dennis Mabuka, @MabukaDennis

Milutin Sredojevic to clinch his maiden Caf title with Pirates The Serbian coach has been a loyal servant of African football, and he has enjoyed some measure of success wherever he has coached in the continent. I hope he finally wins a continental title with his current club, Orlando Pirates, this season, having guided them to the Caf Champions League semi-finals in 2006.  Austin Ditlhobolo, @A_B_Ditlhobolo

Franck Kessie to truly announce himself Once regarded as the 'next Yaya Toure', things haven't gone quite to plan for the Ivorian of late. Kessie was tasked with a variety of roles at AC Milan last season, but has often been criticised for his decision-making and lack of goals. A dominating, box-to-box midfielder is a valuable asset to any team, and at 22, he still has time on his side to show the world his true worth, hopefully starting from this season, whether at AC Milan or elswhere. For Bafana to get the 'right man' at the helm My wish is to see the South Africa Football Association hire a coach who understands South African football and players better in order for Bafana Bafana to be great again ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 qualifiers later this year. Enyimba and Kano Pillars to impress on the continent The NPFL duo will be representing Nigeria in the Caf Champions League this season, and Nigerians should expect an improved performance in the competition from both sides. They were arguably the best sides in the country over the last decade, owing to their continental and domestic achievements in the period, and it would be fantastic to see them representing Nigeria with pride this term. Caf to get their house in order Decades of maladministration and corruption at the highest levels of African football have finally resulted in action; Fifa have stepped in to take control of Caf with the appointment of the Fifa High Commissioner for Africa. The Commissioner will oversee a root-and-branch review of governance, operational practices and financial management before implementing necessary reforms. My greatest wish for the 2019/20 season is for this process to bring Africa's football administration up to a level where the fans, players, clubs and national associations benefit from all the beautiful game has to offer. For Eric Bailly to realise his potential Bailly has been in and out of Manchester United first team under both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to injuries, meaning that the 25-year-old centre-back has not lived up to expectations since joining from Villarreal. However, if he can return to fill fitness following his latest knee injury, he could be a key man in the Norwegian coach's starting XI. Samuel Chukwueze to maintain his momentum Chukwueze broke into the Villarreal first team in September 2018, and has shown glimpses of what he is capable of since, having scored eight goals amid other dazzling displays in his debut La Liga campaign. The forward was named 2018 Nigeria Young Player of the Year, and has been compared with former Bayern Munich and Dutch winger Arjen Robben owing to his startling dribbling skills. He also impressed with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, and I hope he will continue with the performances in the new season. Gregory Oluwagbenga, @Gregoal001

Benni to Bafana? My hope is that Bafana Bafana find stability with a new coach who brings back swagger and restores the pride that should be there when players wear the national team jersey. After years of chopping and changing coaches, it is time the recycling of managers ends, and for Safa to look to a young and vibrant coach who's hungry for success.  Benni McCarthy would be perfect.
