According to Globo Esporte, Richarlison has once again informed Vasco that he will not accept a long-term contract with the Rio de Janeiro club.

Vasco had hoped to sign Richarlison on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, but the two parties could not agree on contract terms. Richarlison is still attempting to negotiate an exit from Tottenham Hotspur, though his prospects appear limited. Vasco has moved on from pursuing the deal and plans to complete six new signings before the transfer window closes.

From the outset of negotiations, Richarlison made clear that he was only willing to sign with Vasco until December 2026. Vasco attempted to persuade him with a longer contract and assurances about the club's sporting project, but Richarlison's representatives rejected the offer.

Although Richarlison and his family had previously hoped for his return to Brazil before the end of the year, he has indicated his preference to return to European football after the season ends. He remains enthusiastic about the opportunity to play for his childhood club.
