Al Nassr coach Postecoglou clashed with a journalist after the team's devastating 4-0 defeat to Al Ain, defending captain Ronaldo.

Postecoglou's team suffered a heavy defeat in their opening match of the AFC Champions League Elite in the UAE. As the defending champions of the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr had started the season well, but this loss proved to be a major setback.
Ronaldo has scored 3 goals in 6 games this season but performed poorly in this match and faced criticism at the post-match press conference. A Saudi journalist asked Postecoglou whether Ronaldo's inclusion in Al Nassr's starting lineup had become a hindrance, suggesting that while the legendary forward was not a burden, he "did not help the team at all."
Postecoglou responded: "Ronaldo has scored 3 goals, and he's had very limited preparation time. This is not about one player; the players are doing their best, and they are all excellent top-class players with great character."
Postecoglou continued: "The responsibility lies with me, but you shouldn't criticize someone who remains a role model for everyone."
He added: "You have to be careful when talking about people who have given everything to continue playing and have built their careers step by step. You can criticize me, that's fine."
When the journalist continued to insist that Ronaldo "did nothing," Postecoglou replied: "He did nothing? You didn't watch the same game as me."
