In the fifth round of the Premier League, Coventry secured their first Premier League win of the season, and their first top-flight victory in 25 years, with a 1-0 away win against Nottingham Forest. After the match, Coventry manager Lampard spoke in a post-match interview about the team's performance and Jay Dasilva's winning goal.

On the match
Lampard said: "The players deserved the win. It was really important for some of the players; many in the squad are playing in the Premier League for the first time and have never experienced this stage before. They needed to feel like they belonged here and to perform like that on the pitch. They executed our game plan very well, and I'm delighted for them to have that feeling. Losing is never a good feeling, but looking at Brighton & Hove Albion's performance against Arsenal today, our previous loss to Brighton & Hove Albion looks a bit better now.
We still have a lot to learn, and there might be times this season when we face similar setbacks; that's the reality for a team promoted to the Premier League. The important thing is to learn from these results, overcome these difficulties, and continue to stick together. When you lose, it's easy for people to blame different things, but our team is very strong and united. This win will make everyone feel good, but we'll stay grounded because it's only one win—but it was certainly a win we needed."
On Jay Dasilva's goal
Lampard said: "He reminded me of Ashley Cole because Ashley used to score goals like that. It was a really fantastic goal. His first touch was excellent, and the finish was equally superb, especially at such a crucial moment. He has been performing exceptionally well for us."
