AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola expressed satisfaction after his team's 1-0 away victory over Liverpool, telling Sky Sports he was delighted to secure a win in such a challenging fixture and praising the team's improved second-half performance.

On the victory, Iraola said: "Obviously, I'm happy with the result because I know it's very difficult to come and play here."

"We improved in the latter part of the first half and played better in the second half. We had some difficulties at the very beginning of the game."

Regarding the contrast in performance between the two halves, Iraola explained: "In the second half, we controlled the game much better and had chances to seal the win. But in the first half, we weren't competing well for second balls. When opponents play with such intensity, you also have to match that intensity."

On the team's defensive performance, Iraola stated: "As a team, this is our third consecutive clean sheet. Of course, there are still some areas to improve, but when we needed to defend, the team's performance brought us stability."

Speaking about Florian Wirtz's performance, Iraola said: "He started slowly, but after the initial period of the game, Florian helped us improve our performance. I am much more satisfied with his display in the second half."
