According to La Repubblica, former Italian forward Manolo Gabbiadini spoke about his life and career after retirement, stating that he feels very peaceful since stepping away from football.

Gabbiadini retired last December. He explained that he chose to hang up his boots at 34 because the past two years had been plagued by injuries, leaving him unhappy. Others had told him he would be bored, but after retiring, he can spend more time with his children.

Speaking about his experiences at Napoli and Southampton, Gabbiadini said: "Going to Napoli was a choice I would make again. How could I refuse them? They really wanted to sign me, and I scored many goals in my first six months. Sampdoria found Muriel as a replacement, and everyone was happy.

My experience in England was great; their passion for football is incredible, and it has the most exciting league in the world. I am very satisfied with that experience. Later, I returned to Sampdoria; I accepted the invitation because I knew I would be happy there."

Gabbiadini also recalled his 13 appearances for the Italian national team, including the match where Italy lost to Sweden and missed the World Cup. He stated: "That defeat was hard to take. It would have been wonderful to score in that decisive match and help Italy qualify for the World Cup. I should have done more; I don't like to make excuses. I only found out two days before the match that I would start, but when you wear the Italy jersey, you must always be ready, whether you play for 1 minute, 10 minutes, or 90 minutes. When Mancini called me up in 2022, I was both surprised and happy; it was the best way to move past the bad memories of the match against Sweden."
