Jonathan Tah praised Jurgen Klopp for his immediate impact since taking charge of Germany, saying that the players are ready to "walk through fire" for their new boss. 

Klopp's first game in charge of Germany ended in a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands, with the former Liverpool boss denied a win by Cody Gakpo's stoppage-time equaliser. 

The 59-year-old is now preparing to oversee his first game on home soil at WWK Arena, with Greece their opponents in the second game of their Nations League campaign. 

Germany were perhaps fortunate to leave with a point against the Netherlands, with Xavi, also making his international bow, masterminding a dominant second-half display. 

The Oranje finished with an expected goals (xG) total of 2.6 from their 14 shots after the break, while they were also able to restrict Germany to a tally of 0.2 from their five attempts. 

But Tah is confident Klopp is the right man to take Germany forward, citing his success at club level with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool behind his reasoning. 

"It's the experience he brings from every club, that mix of fun and passion, that absolute will to win, and also the way he brings the team along. He can really fire us up," Tah said. 

"I think after our initial meeting, everyone walked out thinking, 'Okay, we're ready to walk through fire together now'.

Another player Tah was asked about was Liverpool's Florian Wirtz, who has again come under fire for a string of underwhelming performances so far this season. 

Wirtz and Jonathan Burkardt have been called up one game earlier than expected to replace Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala, who sustained injuries against the Netherlands.

At club level, Wirtz has managed just one assist in six appearances in all competitions, though his 12 chances created are the third-highest total in Andoni Iraola's squad. 

The former Bayer Leverkusen forward is yet to hit the form he showed during his time in the Bundesliga, but Tah has backed Wirtz to rediscover his spark. 

"I find it pretty extreme the way he's been attacked," Tah said of Wirtz. "I know the kind of player he is and that he's going to shine even more.

"I know what he's capable of and, eventually, everyone will understand."
