According to TuttoMercatoWeb, contract extension talks between Napoli and Anguissa are stalling, with the player potentially departing in January.

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna said before the match against Fiorentina: "I spoke with Anguissa and his agent at the end of August. I've been saying this all year: if we can find a solution that works for both parties, that's great. Otherwise, Franck has given a lot to this club, and the club has given a lot to him. By the end of the year, if we do part ways, there won't be any issues. Anguissa is now fully focused on this season and the team's plans." The match ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.

Napoli had previously exercised a club option to extend Anguissa's contract until at least 2027, but the two sides remain far apart on a new deal. The former Villarreal player is seeking a contract worth around 6 million euros per year, while his current salary is 3.6 million euros. His agent, Maxime Nana, has held multiple meetings with Manna, but no agreement has been reached. In this scenario, Anguissa could depart in January.

Anguissa suffered an injury against Fiorentina, leaving the pitch after just 1 minute with a low-grade muscle strain to his right adductor longus. He is expected to miss at least until October 17 for the match against Venezia, or possibly the Champions League clash against Bodø/Glimt on October 20. This season, he has made only 4 appearances, accumulating 238 minutes—a concerning situation.
