On October 2, during a friendly match between South Korea and Venezuela, Kim Min-jae had a heated exchange with South Korea's head coach R. Moreno on the sideline after being substituted. His emotional reactions during the match and his post-match comments drew considerable attention from Korean media and fans.

The match took place at Ulsan Munsu World Cup Stadium, and South Korea drew 0-0 with Venezuela. Against an opponent ranked 48th by FIFA, South Korea struggled to create dangerous attacking opportunities, and its overall performance was sluggish. In the first 45 minutes, South Korea barely created meaningful attacking chances, and its attack showed no significant improvement in the second half, instead frequently facing threats from Venezuela's offensive play.

Kim Min-jae was one of South Korea's most active defensive players. He made several recoveries and aggressive tackles, helping the team keep a clean sheet. In the 35th minute, Kim Min-jae was substituted, and he then removed his boots near the sideline and threw them forcefully to the ground. Broadcast footage also showed Kim Min-jae in conversation with Moreno, during which he appeared visibly upset.

Korean media reported that the "defensive monster" Min-Jae, known for always speaking his mind, showed clear frustration in the last two consecutive matches. Against Uruguay, he closed his eyes on the bench, apparently trying to contain his emotions; against Venezuela, he angrily threw his boots to the ground after being substituted and expressed his opinion to Moreno in an animated tone.

Considering also the protest gesture Kim Min-jae made to South Korea's then-coach Kim Jin-kyu after being substituted in the match against South Africa, he has now publicly shown clear frustration in three of his last four matches.

In the match against Venezuela, Kim Min-jae helped the team keep a clean sheet through solid defending and was named Man of the Match.
