According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) could be placed under a commissioner ahead of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) National Council meeting, with Giovanni Malagò himself potentially taking on the role.

This unexpected proposal emerged as the CONI National Council prepared to vote on placing the FIGC under a commissioner due to Malagò's failure to complete his registration during the election. According to Sky Sport, a concrete compromise has emerged in recent hours among all parties: placing the FIGC under a commissioner, with Malagò himself serving in that capacity.
The plan also includes holding new elections within approximately 90 days, by which time the current Football Federation president will have completed his official registration and can therefore stand for election again. Contacts between all parties have been frequent in recent hours, and it is very likely that on October 6, before the National Council meeting, CONI President Luciano Bonfiglio will meet with Giovanni Malagò.
