In the fifth round of the Bundesliga, Augsburg drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich at home. Neuer made a critical error, and Philipp Tietz scored just 8.4 seconds into the match (according to official Bundesliga data), setting a new record for the fastest goal in Bundesliga history.

Tietz said after the match: "Before the game, we clearly discussed Bayern's kick-off routine: they pass the ball back to Neuer, who then plays a long ball forward. So, in that situation, my job was to not let Alphonso Davies block me, to keep pressing, and to prevent the goalkeeper from making an easy pass. This time, it worked perfectly. I got past Davies relatively easily, and then I saw Neuer lose control of the ball a bit, so I put as much pressure on him as possible, and it paid off."
