Mikayil Faye is only 22 years old, but his career has already experienced many ups and downs. His most notable period was at Barcelona, where his impressive performances with the B team quickly established him as a rising star. Faye possesses excellent physical attributes, combining speed and explosiveness with technical skill, which raised expectations for his promotion to the first team. However, circumstances changed: Xavi ultimately did not continue to back him, instead choosing Cubarsí; Flick also offered him very limited opportunities during pre-season coaching.

Barcelona eventually decided to sell the center-back. The club had initially paid around 2 million euros for him and later sold him to Rennes for over 10 million euros. For Faye, Rennes seemed like an ideal destination: a Ligue 1 club known for developing young talent. However, he failed to establish himself at the French club. Subsequent loan spells at Cremonese and Nuremberg also failed to revive his career. In fact, two months after joining the German side, he still hadn't made his competitive debut, partly due to injury concerns.

Andy Bara, agent for players including Joan Garcia, Olmo, and Faye, explained the center-back's situation and discussed what he believes are the key factors affecting Faye's career trajectory. "You look at a player like Mika Faye, who comes from Africa," Bara began, illustrating that talent alone isn't always sufficient.

He continued, "We did everything: we brought him to Custodia, then sold him to Barcelona. He has tremendous talent, but I think he progressed too quickly and didn't fully appreciate the opportunities he was given. If you don't leave home with the right mindset, we can't help you navigate all of this either."

Bara also discussed the current Barcelona team and one of the keys to their success: the players' character. He said, "Sometimes you feel it's ingrained in their DNA: Olmo left Barcelona and then returned. Barcelona has many talented young players: Lamine Yamal, Rodri, Olmo, Livaković, Joan Garcia. They are all humble and grounded. They are among the world's best players, but I think what's equally important is the human quality in this dressing room that gives the team an extra edge."
