The Reds duo made amends for their recent profligacy by finally clicking during a historic 7-0 Champions League victory over Maribor

Liverpool put on a clinic this evening to secure their first win of the Champions League group stage. They dominated Maribor from start to finish this evening, scoring seven goals on the road. Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored two goals apiece, while Philippe Coutinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold also found the net in the rout. Jurgen Klopp's men head to the top of Group E as a result of Sevilla's loss at the hands of Spartak Moscow and they will look to remain their for the rest of the group stage.

4' GOAL! Maribor 0-1 Liverpool (Firmino)

Just what Liverpool wanted, just what Maribor did not want.A poor back pass from Maribor plays in Salah and Suler can't win the ball with a sliding tackle. Salah races clear down the right and then squares into the middle for Firmino to tap into an empty net.

13' GOAL! Maribor 0-2 Liverpool (Coutinho)

Firmino sweeps the ball across the pitch to Salah, he drives forward before sliding the ball into the box for Milner. His chipped pass into the middle is perfect for Coutinho to volley into the corner. A scuffed finish but good enough to beat the keeper and put Liverpool in control.

20' GOAL! Maribor 0-3 Liverpool (Salah)

This could be a cricket score. Liverpool look like scoring every time they go forward.Maribor give it away inside their own half to Firmino, who slides it through the defence for Salah and he finishes past the goalkeeper.

Maribor's best move of the match by a distance as they manage to get the ball out to Viler on the left and he cuts inside before hitting a low shot that Karius gets down to save.

What is Kramaric doing? He plays it across the edge of his own box to Salah and is fortunate it doesn't result in the fourth goal, as Handanovic makes a sharp save.

Coutinho somehow manages to squeeze past a couple of tackles in the box before getting off a low shot. Fortunately for the keeper it takes a deflection and ends up right in his arms.

40' GOAL! Maribor 0-4 Liverpool (Salah)

Coutinho plays a ball through the defence for Moreno and he squares into the middle where Firmino and Salah collide and manage to knock the ball in. Think it was Salah who will be credited with the goal.

Could be five for Liverpool as Salah slips in Firmino in the box but he drags his shot across goal and wide.

Number five for Liverpool. Coutinho curls in a free-kick from the left wing and Firmino gets ahead of his marker and flicks a header into the far corner.

86' GOAL! Maribor 0-6 Liverpool (Chamberlain)

A wide smile on the face of Jurgen Klopp as Oxlade-Chamberlain gets off the mark for Liverpool. Again it comes from a Maribor mistake, with Sturridge pouncing and then playing in  Oxlade-Chamberlain, who gets through the middle and finishes into the bottom corner.

A seventh for Liverpool as Alexander-Arnold has a go from around 25 yards and the shot takes a deflection and beats the goalkeeper.
