Emam Ashour’s future at Al Ahly has been thrown into uncertainty after a dramatic breakdown in relations between the midfielder and the club, following a rejected transfer offer and subsequent disciplinary action.

According to reports, Ashour received a lucrative $5 million offer from a club in the United States. Al Ahly, however, moved swiftly to shut down any negotiations, dismissing the proposal outright as they consider the 26-year-old an indispensable part of their sporting project.

The rejection appears to have frustrated the player. Despite being named in Al Ahly’s squad for their CAF Champions League fixture in Zanzibar, Ashour reportedly refused to travel with the team. The act was viewed by club officials as a serious breach of discipline.

In response, Al Ahly imposed a two-week suspension on the midfielder and slapped him with a heavy fine of $32,000, underlining their zero-tolerance stance on insubordination.

The episode has escalated tensions between both parties, casting a shadow over Ashour’s immediate future at the the club. While Al Ahly remain firm on their position, the growing rift raises questions about whether reconciliation is possible or if the standoff could eventually force a reassessment of the player’s status at the club.
