This summer, Inter signed three English players from the Premier League—Stones, Spence, and Curtis Jones—who joined the club one after another. Previously, only three English players had ever played for Inter.

Gerry Hitchens joined Inter from Aston Villa in the 1961-62 season and played for the club for one season. In the summer of 1995, Paul Ince joined Inter from Man United and spent two seasons at the club, making 73 appearances and scoring 13 goals. In January 2020, Inter signed Ashley Young from Man United for €1.7 million. Young made 59 appearances for Inter, contributing five goals and nine assists while helping the team win the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season.

This summer, Inter signed Man City centre-back John Stones on a free transfer before completing deals with Tottenham for Spence and Liverpool for Curtis Jones, with fixed transfer fees of €30 million plus €5 million in variables, bringing three English players to the club in a single summer transfer window.
