According to Bild, Ebnoutalib is one of Klopp's biggest surprises. However, this has also greatly angered the Moroccan Football Association.

Ebnoutalib's father, Faisal, is Moroccan, and the player is still eligible to represent both countries. Recently, the North African side, led by head coach Walid Regragui and high-ranking officials from the football association, has been actively pursuing Ebimobi, and it seemed very promising.

This has greatly displeased the Moroccan side, and according to Bild, the Moroccan Football Association refuses to accept this decision and has sent Ebimobi an official invitation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. This came despite Ebnoutalib having previously informed them that he had chosen Klopp and his birthplace, Germany. Morocco, however, seems to be ignoring this.

But they will have to accept this reality sooner or later, because once Ebimobi makes his German national team debut and is officially tied to Germany in a Nations League match against the Netherlands in Amsterdam or against Greece in Augsburg, he will no longer be able to switch allegiances.
