Trabzonspor announced the appointment of German coach Thomas Reis following the dismissal of Fatih Tekke due to poor results.

Trabzonspor's official website published Reis' statement after he signed his contract. Thomas Reis said: "When you receive an offer from a big club like Trabzonspor, you accept it quickly without wasting too much time. I couldn't refuse the project Trabzonspor presented to me."

Reis added: "I also spoke with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, and we had a good conversation. Working with a player like him is perhaps one of the best things a coach can experience."

Reis said: "But we don't just need Salah to win; we need all our players. We need all 11 players performing well. We will also ask him to occasionally help the team defensively."

Reis continued: "Of course, I will give Salah freedom in attack. If we can defend well, quickly regain possession, and deliver the ball to him without overextending him with excessive running, we will definitely be able to utilize his creativity and technical ability."

Reis emphasized: "When you really observe Salah and see how willing he is to help the team defensively, you realize how important this player is. He demonstrates how much he craves success."

Reis said: "Throughout my career, I've always adopted a 'less talk, more action' mentality. During my time at Samsunspor, we had some successful moments with organized transition play, but this is just one of the options available to us. You can benefit from many different approaches."

Reis concluded: "If you're afraid to play in big matches, you shouldn't be here. This is not the place for you, and we must select players who can bring us victory. After the international break, we will have more time to train. I can assure you that we will work together to significantly improve the team's situation."
