Ahead of Liverpool's away match against AFC Bournemouth, Liverpool captain Van Dijk spoke to Sky Sports about the team's performance so far this season, their recent run of clean sheets, and his thoughts on the upcoming fixture.

"We are still in a process of continuous adjustment and improvement. I think we are still undefeated, but I don't think everyone will be particularly satisfied with how we've started this season, because Liverpool's demands and standards for ourselves should be higher than this," Van Dijk said.

"However, we are constantly gelling, and there have been many positive signs, with many aspects developing in a good direction. Now it's up to us to continue to progress and move forward, and today's match is a good test."

In your last two Premier League matches, the team has kept clean sheets. That's a positive aspect. How important do you think this is for the team?

"Obviously, that's a very good thing, and something we as a whole team can continue to build on," he replied. "We are now showing good things in many aspects, certainly defensively and offensively as well. Hopefully, we can show these positive things today too."

Last season's two matches between AFC Bournemouth and Liverpool were very exciting, with 11 goals scored in total. Do you think there will be similarly exciting scenes today, or will this be a completely different kind of contest?

"I think, as I said at the beginning, it has always been difficult to play here, and it has always been tough against AFC Bournemouth. In my opinion, today will be no different," Van Dijk stated. "However, I hope we can continue with our previous defensive organization, keep the backline compact, and ensure our pressing is solid. When we get opportunities, we must seize them and try to finish the game."

"But it will definitely be a tough game. Every game in the Premier League is difficult, and I think that's evident on every matchday, as it was yesterday too," he concluded.
