According to Marca, Real Madrid center-back Militao has passed the final examination by Finnish surgeon Lasse Lempainen, who performed his surgery, and is in the final stages of his return, expected to rejoin the team in October.

Real Madrid is awaiting the return of a key defensive player, Éder Militao. The center-back, who has long been plagued by injuries, is finally receiving good news. His surgeon, Finnish doctor Lasse Lempainen, recently visited the Valdebebas training ground to examine Militao.

Militao underwent surgery for a ruptured proximal hamstring tendon on April 28, 2026, and was expected to be sidelined for five months. The player has now entered the final stage of recovery. Just a few days ago, the center-back was seen performing high-intensity physical training on the field, showing good recovery. With the surgeon's examination results being very positive, he now only needs to begin training with the team and integrate. His return will depend on his progress in team training and the time it takes to regain his best form, but it should happen in October this year.

Militao faces a huge challenge: to play again and regain the level that once made him widely recognized as one of the world's best center-backs. Over the past three seasons, he has accumulated nearly 800 days sidelined due to injuries.

The nightmare began in the 2023-24 season when he ruptured his left anterior cruciate ligament, sidelining him for 231 days. In the following season, he suffered three more injuries, including a complete rupture of the right anterior cruciate ligament with bilateral meniscus damage, which sidelined him for another 255 days. Last season, he suffered four more injuries, bringing his total time sidelined since 2023 to 781 days.
