According to Goal, Klopp's annual salary is 7 million euros, ranking second among national team coaches worldwide.

When Julian Nagelsmann was the German national team coach, his annual salary was approximately 6 million euros. His contract was originally signed until 2028, and after his termination, he received about 7 million euros in severance pay. Nagelsmann's successor, Klopp, now earns an annual salary of 7 million euros, placing him at the top of the German national team coaches' historical earnings list.

According to relevant reports, the 59-year-old Klopp ranks second on the global national team coach salary list. Italian Ancelotti ranks first. The 67-year-old Ancelotti ended his contract with Real Madrid in May 2024 and subsequently took over the Brazilian national team. His annual salary at Real Madrid reached up to 11 million euros, while his salary in Brazil is estimated at around 10 million euros.

Following Ancelotti and Klopp are US national team coach Mauricio Pochettino, with an annual salary of 6.8 million euros, and England coach Thomas Tuchel, with an annual salary of 6 million euros. Spain coach Luis de la Fuente received a salary increase after leading his team to Euro 2024 victory, with his annual salary rising from 2 million euros to 5 million euros.

Argentina's World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni earns an annual salary of 2.3 million euros, while Austria coach Ralf Rangnick earns 2 million euros.

For Klopp, coaching the German national team also pays significantly less than his previous positions. As Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull, his annual salary was approximately 12 million euros; his final base salary at Liverpool reached 18 million euros.

Klopp is not the only renowned coach whose income decreased when taking a national team role. Frenchman Zinedine Zidane now earns an annual salary of 3.6 million euros, compared to 12 million euros at Real Madrid. Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus now earns an annual salary of 4 million euros, previously earning 12 million euros at Al-Hilal.

The salaries of Germany's Nations League opponents' coaches show a significant gap compared to Klopp's: Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman earns 3 million euros annually, Greece coach Ivan Jovanovic earns 900,000 euros annually, and Serbia coach Veljko Paunović earns 650,000 euros annually.
