According to Italia Serie A Daily, former Milan defender Marcel Desailly stated that Internazionale is one of the main forces in Italian football and can contend for the Champions League.

Marcel Desailly said in an interview: "I don't watch your league much. You tell me, why is Italian football generally no longer getting the attention it deserves?"

He added: "I will follow Milan; both Milan and Internazionale are major forces in Italian football, and Internazionale can also contend for the Champions League. However, I don't want to interfere too much—I just support them from afar."
