According to Manchester Evening News, 15-year-old Manchester United academy prospect JJ Gabriel still hopes to leave the club and is currently using the international break to train in Catalonia to maintain his fitness while awaiting clarity on his future.

Gabriel is considered one of the most promising young talents in world football, but the stalemate surrounding his future persists. He is currently in Spain, planning his next career steps.

Last month, Gabriel formally requested an immediate contract termination with Manchester United, but the club's management rejected the request and decided to retain the young player. With his future still uncertain, he is training in Barcelona with private coach Jack Hunter at the British School pitch in Castelldefels to maintain his fitness. Gabriel and his family frequently visit Barcelona and are keen on him joining Barcelona in the future. Meanwhile, Real Madrid, managed by Mourinho, has also reportedly shown interest in signing him. However, Barcelona sporting director Deco downplayed these speculations at the Portuguese Football Summit.

Regarding Gabriel, Deco said: "There's nothing to say about this boy. It's normal for players to be linked with us; it always happens. There's a huge market behind it, involving many interests, even for young players. But we're not interested in any player in his situation. I'm not sure what's happening now or if he's still a Manchester United player. We're not involved in this. Before trying to do anything, we first need to clarify the specific situation. Discussing matters concerning young players, teenagers, is not something we should be doing."

Gabriel will turn 16 next week, but under the rules, he cannot sign a professional contract until he is 17. Facing intense scrutiny caused by this situation, Manchester United manager Michael Carrick recently called for calm regarding the young player.

Commenting on Gabriel's situation, Carrick said: "I'm just repeating what I've said before: he's still a child, and it's important not to disclose any details here. We need to be careful with the attention and close scrutiny he receives, stay rational, and think about what's best for him. Everything will naturally resolve itself."
