In Portugal's 4-2 victory over Denmark, Leao wore Ronaldo's number 7 jersey. After the match, in the mixed zone at Parken Stadium, Leao stated that Ronaldo was his childhood idol and the number 7 also held special significance for him. He believed that Ronaldo would be happy about the team's victory at home.

On wearing the number 7 jersey

Leao said, "Yes, Ronaldo is my idol, my childhood idol. The number 7 has special meaning to me; my children were born on the 7th. I just want to try to live up to this jersey and enjoy the game with my teammates. I think the most important thing is that we played a good game and won."

Regarding Ronaldo leaving the Portugal national team training camp

Leao commented, "That has nothing to do with us. We proved that we are a united group, and he must be happy about this victory at home. I have a good relationship with him, I know him well. The most important thing is the team. We got another three points and are at the top of the group. Now we need to rest well and prepare for Monday's game. This has nothing to do with us. The collective is what matters most, and we need to respond as a whole."

On the victory in Denmark

Leao stated, "We knew it would be a tough game. They were playing at home with the support of their fans. This team is very similar to Norway, very strong physically, but the coach prepared us very well. In these two games, we played very systematically from the start. Then we created scoring opportunities, and our efficiency in converting them was very high, ultimately scoring four goals."
