According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is getting closer to rejoining team training. The Dutch midfielder has not yet featured for Barcelona this season due to a right knee injury sustained during the World Cup last summer.

On Saturday, de Jong posted photos on social media of himself training at Barcelona's training facility. The training sessions show he is able to perform off-ball drills, such as sprints, and has also engaged in ball work, indicating his rehabilitation is progressing well.
As previously reported by Mundo Deportivo, de Jong is expected to begin training with Barcelona players not involved in international matches on October 5, and plans to rejoin full team training on October 8. Two days later, Barcelona will host Getafe at Camp Nou.
However, rejoining team training does not mean de Jong will immediately be available for official matches. According to current projections, he may need another two to three weeks to build up his physical fitness and match sharpness before coach Hansi Flick considers his return to competitive play.

In the latest training photo he posted, de Jong displayed the "BARÇA" lettering on his training kit, signaling his eagerness to return to the team.
