In the men's football final of the ASIAD, South Korea defeated Japan 1-0 to win the championship. After the match, South Korea's Olympic team captain Lee Kang-in gave an interview to the media.

Lee Kang-in, captain of South Korea's Olympic team, stated: "If Japan did this intentionally, that's unacceptable. The medal ceremony should be an occasion to honor everyone, but for us, who gave our all and achieved results, we couldn't even properly raise the Taegeukgi. That's something to be upset about."
