According to FCInternews, former Inter player Valero stated in an interview with Sport Mediaset that Lautaro is a player who can drive the team, and Internazionale plays better with him on the field.

Valero described the start of the season as "surprising." He said, "There were indeed questions about some teams with new coaches. Internazionale's squad strength is superior to all opponents. Roma is no longer a surprise, as Gian Piero Gasperini always does well. There's no doubt that Roma will be Inter's main competitor, although there will be other challengers. Inter is still the team that needs to be beaten."

Valero also stated, "Lautaro is a player who can drive the team, and every time he is on the field, the team plays better." He added, "Yes, I think he has proven himself to be one of the best players in the league in that position."
