According to British media outlet Sport Witness, citing Turkish newspaper Sabah, Nottingham Forest is monitoring Fenerbahçe left-back Archie Brown and plans to submit a €15 million offer when the winter transfer window opens in January. However, Fenerbahçe has no intention of selling the 24-year-old in the winter window and has set his asking price at €30 million.

Nottingham Forest considered signing Brown during the summer transfer window to strengthen the team's left-sided defense. In February 2024, Nottingham Forest signed Luca Netz from Borussia Mönchengladbach, but the German defender made only 7 appearances last season, totaling 355 minutes of play.
In July, Oliver Glasner became Nottingham Forest's head coach. As Netz may not have sufficiently impressed the new coach, the club began considering a move for Brown. However, Nottingham Forest ultimately did not sign Brown from Fenerbahçe nor acquire any other left-back.
This season, Glasner has deployed Neco Williams as the team's primary left-back, with Netz serving mainly as a substitute. To date, the German player has appeared only 4 times for Nottingham Forest, totaling 56 minutes of play.
Brown came through the youth systems of West Brom and Derby County. In 2021, he left England to join Swiss club Lausanne Sport, then transferred to Belgian club Gent in 2023. Last summer, Brown moved from Gent to Fenerbahçe.
In his first season with Fenerbahçe, Brown played primarily as a left-back, scoring 5 goals and providing assists in 38 appearances. This season, he has played 10 times for Fenerbahçe, starting 9 of those matches, totaling 838 minutes, with 2 goals and 1 assist.
In May, Sport Witness reported that Nottingham Forest had submitted a €16 million offer to Fenerbahçe, which was rejected. At that time, Fenerbahçe's asking price was €18 million.
Subsequently, Sunderland also submitted an offer to Fenerbahçe. Man United and Chelsea were also linked with Brown. However, the report suggests these major clubs' interest may have been used to exert negotiating pressure on Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.
Despite failing to complete the deal in the summer, Nottingham Forest has not given up on Brown. According to a report by Turkish newspaper Sabah on October 6, Glasner's team has begun preparing for the winter transfer window and plans to try again, ready to submit a €15 million offer.
However, Fenerbahçe's current valuation of Brown has increased to €30 million. The main reason is that the club has no intention of allowing the player to leave midway through the season and hopes to retain him with a high asking price.
It remains unclear whether Nottingham Forest is willing to increase their offer to meet Fenerbahçe's demands.
Brown's current contract with Fenerbahçe expires in 2028 with an option for a one-year extension. If he remains with the team through the end of this season, Fenerbahçe may reconsider selling him in the next summer transfer window.
