According to SportMediaset, Italian Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi stated that construction on the new San Siro stadium should begin by spring 2027, as Milan hopes to be selected as a host city for Euro 2032.

Abodi made the remarks during the "Volunteering and Sports Day" event organized by the Future Construction Foundation at the Allianz MiCo in Milan. He said, "Milan will certainly be one of the host cities for Euro 2032, but time is of the essence. Construction on the new San Siro stadium must begin by spring 2027."
Abodi added, "Time is flying. 2032 seems far away, but the deadline is very near. In a few weeks, UEFA, together with the Italian Football Federation, will make a selection from the 14 proposals submitted." He emphasized that it would be difficult for Milan not to be on the final list.
Regarding the new San Siro project, Abodi stated, "From what I understand, the project fully complies with proper procedures." He mentioned the interest expressed by the clubs and the assessment by the Italian Tax Agency, adding, "The price paid is considerable and will also bring substantial private investment." Abodi hopes that the mayor and the clubs will quickly initiate the necessary administrative procedures to accelerate the start of construction.
