Defender Cristian Romero scored his first goal for Atletico Madrid, helping the team secure a 2-1 victory against Alaves. He spoke to Movistar+ after the match.

On his feelings:

"It's difficult to quickly adapt to the club's demands after returning from the national team, with jet lag and so on, but I'm always ready to help the team. We played a good game. Although we conceded a goal, which defenders don't like, the team performed well and we deserved the win."

On the goal:

"Baena's cross was beautiful; he's an incredible player. The season has started very well, and we must continue to improve. We are in good form, but performances alone are not enough. We should always aim higher and believe we can do better. We need to mentally prepare for next Tuesday's match."

On the busy October schedule:

"We have to compete. La Liga is very competitive, and we are ready. We have a strong squad, and the team always wants better results. We must be prepared, give 100%, and not be complacent."
