Recently, a social media user reported that they had received racist comments from a foreign player at Hong Kong Premier League club Tai Po in response to emotional comments they left on a post. The user subsequently provided more detailed clarification about the situation in the comments section on Dongqiudi.

Original Statement from the Complainant

I am the person (account danny.1225_) in the screenshots who contacted the player privately. When I saw the original post screenshots being reposted on Dongqiudi and causing considerable controversy, I wanted to clarify the full context and subsequent developments to prevent information from being distorted and blown out of proportion.

First, I sincerely apologize for the inappropriate comments I left on the player's post and for using emotionally charged language such as "bait" when I first posted on Threads. This was an impulsive, thoughtless, and inappropriate action, and I do not intend to defend my original remarks. I have given this considerable thought.

Following the incident, I reported the situation to Tai Po Football Club. The club responded positively, stating that they had issued an internal reprimand to the player and apologized to me.

Subsequently, the player's father (Rodrigo Mesquita) proactively and sincerely apologized to me via private message, with a very humble and responsible attitude.

Considering that the player is only 19 years old and my original intention was never to destroy a young player's career, I accepted his father's apology and formally apologized to him for my own inappropriate initial remarks. Both parties reached a mutual understanding and resolved the matter.

Before the incident was reposted and escalated, I proactively deleted the original post from social media. Since the club and the player's family acknowledged their mistakes and sincerely apologized, the matter has been resolved satisfactorily through private settlement.

I hope all fans can view this matter rationally and refrain from excessive criticism of either party. I also hope this young player can learn from this experience. Thank you for your attention. This matter has been resolved and will no longer occupy public discussion resources.
