Manchester United "treble" winner Dwight Yorke has questioned Carrick's handling of Sesko during his tenure at Old Trafford in the 2026-27 season.

Sesko has made 6 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring 2 goals for the Red Devils.
The 23-year-old Slovenian forward was sidelined due to a recurring shin injury, which also caused him to miss Manchester United's summer pre-season tour.
This season, Carrick has gradually reintegrated Sesko into the Manchester United squad, with the Slovenian international featuring in and out of the Red Devils' starting lineup.
When Sesko was unavailable, Manchester United manager Carrick deployed Cunha or Mbeumo as the lone striker.
Zirkzee was also an option if Sesko was out and Carrick needed another Manchester United forward.
Although Carrick preferred Mbeumo to lead the line, Sesko was in red-hot form in the second half of the 2025-26 Premier League season. The former RB Leipzig forward, who joined Old Trafford last summer, made a significant impact coming off the bench during Carrick's interim spell.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Yorke expressed his bewilderment at why Carrick wasn't starting Sesko when the Manchester United forward was fully fit. The 54-year-old Manchester United legend added that Sesko "works incredibly hard" and could offer a lot to the Red Devils as a lone striker in the starting lineup.
"I don't understand why Sesko isn't playing," Yorke said.
"I know he's injured now, but you have to play this guy at number 9. I think, Ally (McCoist), you've played number 9 yourself, and I think you have to trust this kid. He has all the qualities needed.
"Yes, he can score goals coming off the bench and all that, but you have to push him up front, let other players play around him and feed off him, because he's a handful. He works incredibly hard, and in my opinion, it's a bit worrying that he hasn't given Sesko the chance to truly lead the line."
Due to a recurring shin injury, Sesko missed Manchester United's 1-1 draw against 10-man Tottenham in the Premier League over the weekend and also missed Manchester United's match against Atlético Madrid.
