Harambee Stars striker Jesse Were has been voted the best player for Zesco United for the month of June.

The former Tusker striker was in great form for the Team Ya Ziko capping the month with a goal as they beat Green Eagles 3-2 in Ndola on Sunday. Zesco United have confirmed the latest achievement on their official facebook page.

"Congratulations Jesse Were for being voted as the fans player of the month (June)."

Meanwhile, Zesco United coach Zlatko Krmpotic is glad his charges collected the three points despite Green Eagles threatening to rally against Zesco United on Sunday. The win saw Zesco United bounce back from their 1-0 home defeat in the Ndola derby to Forest Rangers on July 9.

Zesco were leading 3-0 before the first hour-mark of the opening 45 minute before Eagles hit back to narrow the gap at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. John Chingandu struck twice in the 1st and 28th minutes while Jesse Were scored in-between with a 22nd minute goal.
