On August 20th, Schira reported that Juventus hoped Perin would stay to serve as Vicario's backup.

After Juventus successfully signed Vicario on loan, the team's original first- and second-choice goalkeepers, Di Gregorio and Perin, were both considered likely to leave.
According to Schira, 33-year-old Perin has received a lucrative 3-year offer from Serie B club Palermo. However, at the same time, Juventus also hopes that the former Italian international goalkeeper will stay and serve as Vicario's backup in the new season.
Schira's report further states that Perin, whose current contract expires in June next year, hopes to renew his contract with Juventus until 2028, allowing him to remain with the Bianconeri. He is expected to make a final decision on his future within the next few hours.
