According to the Daily Mail, former England and Premier League player Sterling appeared in court on charges including dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide following a car crash in May.

Police received a report on May 28 of a £270,000 Lamborghini swerving on the M3 motorway in Hampshire before 9 am that day.

Footage obtained by the Daily Mail shows the black luxury SUV weaving across three lanes, with other vehicles swerving to avoid it. The driver appeared to be inhaling from a balloon, a method of consuming nitrous oxide, also known as "hippy crack."

Minutes later, Sterling reportedly crashed the vehicle into a highway barrier and was subsequently handcuffed by Hampshire police. Police stated that Sterling refused to provide a sample after his arrest, thus also facing charges of failing to provide a required sample.
