Nevertheless, Gabriel's current stance opens up the possibility of him leaving next summer. He will turn 16 on October 6, at which point he will be eligible to sign a professional youth contract.

Barcelona and Real Madrid, two Spanish giants, have already taken notice of Gabriel's situation. As he holds an Irish passport, he is eligible to join other European clubs. If Gabriel ultimately joins Real Madrid, the plan is for him to play for the B team initially.
