Swiss national team coach Murat Yakin said: "Following an excellent World Cup performance, we aim to secure promotion to the top division."

During the upcoming international break, Switzerland will face North Macedonia twice in the UEFA Nations League on September 26 and October 6, as well as Scotland (September 29) and Slovenia (October 3).
Speaking about the 16-day training camp beginning Monday, September 21, Yakin outlined his ambitions: "Following our excellent World Cup campaign in North America, we want to maintain our momentum in the UEFA Nations League and achieve promotion to League A. We aim to make the most of this demanding schedule—four matches across three countries in 11 days—to build the best foundation for promotion. With several players retiring from international football, we also want to assess some new talents and players who have had limited opportunities in official matches."
