Before the international break, Kane was interviewed by French media outlet Téléfoot, discussing topics such as the Ballon d'Or race, his personal character, last season being one of his best, his pride in achieving statistics on par with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Champions League being a major goal for Bayern Munich, his desire to win a major tournament with England, the Ballon d'Or becoming a personal goal, and his gratitude to Ferdinand for publicly campaigning for him. The following is the second part of the exclusive interview.

Reporter: I have a video here from an England legend for you. It's about you.
Kane: Ah, it's Rio Ferdinand!
Rio Ferdinand said in the video: "Ballon d'Or! Ballon d'Or! 73 goals in a single season! In football history, only Messi has scored more goals than Kane in a single season. He won the European Golden Boot. Who else, guys? Who else deserves the Ballon d'Or besides Kane? You're kidding me, guys... There's only one Ballon d'Or winner, and that's Kane."
Reporter: He's campaigning hard for you!
Kane: Haha, thank you so much, Rio! I've received a lot of similar supportive messages lately, and all I can say is sincere thanks to everyone who has publicly spoken out for me. Rio is one of the greatest center-backs in English football history. Although we're not particularly close personally, we've met several times in interviews and other settings. I definitely want to meet up with him in person and thank him personally. As I said, hearing such praise makes me feel incredibly honored. From my perspective, I am grateful for all the support. As I mentioned at the beginning, I have never been one to boast about myself, but seeing colleagues in the industry openly stand up for me truly makes me proud and feels fantastic.
Reporter: Is winning the Ballon d'Or a dream for you? You have incredibly strong credentials this year.
Kane: Yes. When I first started my football journey, my dream was just to play professional football, to play for Tottenham Hotspur, and to wear the England jersey. Now I have achieved all of these. Now, being crowned the best player in the world is indeed a huge ambition and pursuit, and if it could happen, it would be an incredible honor. But ultimately, it's not something I can control right now. Last season I gave my all and performed at my best, and we just talked about how wonderful that season was; I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. But now my focus is completely on the new season. I am constantly thinking about how to improve myself, how to lead the team, and how to help my teammates perform even better—this is my eternal mindset. I know there will be overwhelming discussions about the Ballon d'Or, which is normal; after all, it is the most prestigious individual honor in football. But right now, I just want to do my part, wait and see, and calmly face the final result.
Reporter: It's been an honor to interview you. The Ballon d'Or race this year is bound to be very intense, with top French stars like Mbappé and Dembélé also having strong credentials, which will definitely be a heated contest.
Kane: That's true. There are so many great superstars on the shortlist—Mbappé, Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, Rodri—a gathering of world-class players. I think that's also why this year's competition is particularly captivating and has sparked such widespread discussion. And Michael Olise has delivered dominant performances in the new season and also performed brilliantly in previous major tournaments. There are simply too many top players. Football is inherently subjective; some are impressed by exquisite individual skill, some are fond of astonishing goal-scoring efficiency, some value rock-solid defense, and others appreciate all-around performances. It is this diversity that gives the sport infinite charm. Before becoming a professional player, I was also a passionate fan, so I fully understand everyone's arguments. And this is precisely what makes the Ballon d'Or and all football debates so captivating and unique.
Reporter: For the young English players who will follow in your footsteps in the future, what kind of guidance and example do you most hope to leave for them?
My primary principle when I step onto the field is always that the team comes first, and to always show the utmost respect to my teammates. You can never put yourself above the collective; you can never be greater than your club or your national team. Work hard and diligently, and often you must endure solitude, toiling silently behind the scenes where the spotlight doesn't shine. This is paramount, and it's the only way you can break through and continuously improve. Especially for those young strikers who dream of wearing the England number 9 jersey in the future, reaching the top requires immense focus, sacrifice, and hard work. I hope they can see that my path to the top was by no means smooth; I also experienced several loan spells and the ups and downs of life, but I always believed in my abilities and never stopped training with all my might. For me now, the goal is to play at the highest level for as long as possible.
