Former Manchester City captain Kyle Walker recently spoke about the club being found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules, as reported by The Guardian, citing PA Media. He admitted that the outcome "doesn't look good" but stressed that regardless of the final appeal result, the memories of the trophies and glorious moments the players shared cannot be erased.

Last week, an independent commission ruled that Manchester City had breached Premier League financial rules between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons, concluding that the club had inflated its revenue by over £900 million through related-party transactions. Manchester City has appealed the decision.
Walker played for Manchester City from 2017 to 2024, winning the Champions League and 12 major domestic honours with the team. Now captain of Burnley, he told TalkSport: "Obviously, it doesn't look good."
"The case is still under appeal, so it wouldn't help me or anyone involved if I started commenting on these legal matters now."
However, Walker emphasized that, from a player's personal perspective, his time at Manchester City still holds special significance.
He said: "On a personal level, we as players had many wonderful years together, celebrated many trophies, and experienced many significant moments. No matter what happens, these things cannot be taken away from us because we lived those nights ourselves."
"So, whatever the outcome, let things take their course. Now it all depends on the appeal and how things develop from there."
Walker also admitted that discussing the current ruling is not easy for players who once played for Manchester City.
He said: "It's a topic we don't want to talk about because we want people to remember that we won those trophies, and we won them fairly."
"It's very difficult because we put in so much effort for those honours."
