According to Marca, Atlético Madrid held a training session on Wednesday. Diego Simeone's squad trained at the Majadahonda Sports City, with Grimaldo's return being the most significant development. The Spanish international has rejoined team training after participating only partially the previous day, and he took part fully from the start of Wednesday's session.

Llorente, Daniel Martínez, Grimaldo, Koke, Barrios, Jony, Arnau Ortiz, Lukman, and Sørloth, along with goalkeeping coach Jorge Castillo and fitness coach Jorge Domínguez, trained with several academy players. The first half focused on physical conditioning under Luis Piñedo's supervision. Salvi Esquivel returned to field training after his U21 national team duties, while Rodrigo Méndoza rejoined after international commitments but trained in the gym. Ujurmand completed an individual session while his teammates worked on the pitch.
By Thursday at 18:00 CET, most international players are expected to return to Atlético's training base ahead of Saturday's LaLiga clash against Alavés. Spanish players Baena, Puértolas, and Le Normand, Argentine players Musso, Cristian Romero, Giuliano Simeone, and Julián Álvarez, plus Oblak, Hancko, Obed Vargas, and Jonathan David, will be among the last to rejoin the squad. Simeone will have only two days to prepare for the league's resumption.
