With the Premier League set to resume, several managers have weighed in on Manchester City's financial irregularities case, which has garnered significant attention during the international break.

Last week, Manchester City was found guilty of all financial misconduct charges spanning from 2009 to 2018, a period during which the club dominated English football. This era covers a substantial part of Pep Guardiola's decade-long, trophy-laden tenure at City, including multiple Premier League titles. Manchester City maintains its innocence and has appealed the ruling. If the appeal fails, the club could face severe penalties. Over the past week, commentators, former players, and experts have offered their opinions. As Premier League teams reconvene, the managers of all 20 clubs have also begun to respond to the news.
BIG6 Managers' Views
Manchester City manager Maresca said: "Personally, to be honest, I'm calm. The club has made its position very clear, and we have full trust in the club. We understand all the outside discussions, but we will only focus on what we can control, and what we can control is only football-related matters. The players are looking forward to the next two games, and what excites them even more is that we are currently at the top of the league. The players are only focused on that. Of course, I have communicated with the club, and we all trust the club. When we win the appeal, that will be the appropriate time to talk about this."
Arsenal manager Arteta said: "I completely understand the question. But obviously, we have to respect the process and the timings, which is very important. The process is still ongoing, and things are not yet finalized. My position and the club's position are not to comment further until things are resolved."
Liverpool manager Slot said: "I think uncertainty is not good for anyone, including all parties involved. But the process is ongoing, and we have to be patient like everyone else and see what happens in the end."
Chelsea manager Maresca said: "Indeed, there has been a ruling. But we need to be patient and wait for the committee's decision on the penalty. They are independent enough to assess all aspects of the situation. I believe that whatever decision they make will be the right one. It might take a bit longer to see what happens next."
Manchester United manager Carrick said: "In many ways, this is a difficult matter to comment on. It raises many questions. The process is still ongoing, and there's only so much I can say. I have some questions myself because this has also affected me personally. We can only wait and see what happens next. For everyone, the sooner it's resolved, the better. No matter how it's handled in the end, those championship moments cannot be brought back. We all crave that feeling of winning championships, and that's what it boils down to. What has happened in the past has happened."
Tottenham Hotspur manager Postecoglou did not comment.
Other Managers' Views
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hürzeler said: "This is completely out of my control. I can only focus on what we are doing. This is not something we can decide, nor is it a topic I need to focus on. I already have enough to deal with. However, let's see what happens next. I heard there are still some procedures ongoing, so it's difficult to comment on it now."
Everton manager Moyes said: "I hope it's not just Everton being targeted. I always feel the referees are against us, but now perhaps other parties are too."
Crystal Palace manager Glasner said: "We have already played against Manchester City, so I have no interest in delving into their situation. All the facts are now laid out, and I think it's up to the authorities to make a ruling. However, the results will come out soon because everyone wants to know what will happen in the end."
Brentford manager Frank said: "I think this is a big issue that the Premier League needs to address. Since the process is still ongoing, I don't think it's appropriate for me to delve too deeply into it. I should respect the current handling process of the governing body and their efforts to reach the correct outcome. I believe they will do so. I think reaching a conclusion as quickly as possible is certainly everyone's goal and expectation, and everyone hopes the final result can be determined soon. We must trust the governing body to make the right judgment."
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno said: "Let's wait for the final ruling, but I hope this matter can be resolved as soon as possible, because when I was coaching Crystal Palace, we didn't know for a while whether we would participate in the Europa League or the Conference League. Initially, it was said the results would be out on Thursday, but then it became Monday because of constant delays. In the end, we didn't get the final ruling until ten days before the Conference League started. So I think this matter must be dealt with as soon as possible. This will still cause damage to the Premier League, and the impact is not limited to England. This is a major topic all over the world, especially in Europe. The most important thing is the credibility of the league, because once fans no longer trust the league, they will stop watching."
Fulham manager Silva said: "I prefer not to make any comments. I am the manager of Fulham, and I have many decisions to make about my own team, which is the most important thing. I am only focused on tomorrow's match now."
Ipswich Town manager McKenna said: "I have no opinion, and I know absolutely nothing about this matter. It would be outrageous for me to comment on something I know nothing about. I can assure you, I know even less than you do. Perhaps it would be more appropriate for me to ask you what you think about this."
Aston Villa manager Emery did not comment.
