Højlund was interviewed by the official Serie A league, where he spoke about his relationship with football, his family, and his feelings about living in the city of Napoli.

Højlund said: "Football has been my entire life; I've barely known anything else. My brothers all play football, everyone in my family is involved with football, and everyone I know makes a living from football. I remember when I was about ten, my father set up a small, makeshift pitch in the basement. He originally hoped I would become a professional player, and later that passion completely became my obsession."
Regarding the Maradona Stadium and Maradona himself, the player continued: "Everything about this stadium is incredibly special. Looking at the statue of Maradona inside the stadium, I can't help but marvel at how far superior his skills were to everyone else of his era. My father always told me he was a supremely talented, legendary footballer."
"When competing in major matches, you can truly feel the passion surging through the entire stadium. Whether it's a Champions League match or playing against opponents like Juventus, AC Milan, or Inter Milan, the atmosphere on the field is completely different. I am now accustomed to the high-pressure competition of Serie A, and I enjoy this pressure; it pushes me to constantly break through my own limits."
Finally, he spoke emotionally about Napoli: "I love the atmosphere here, the local culture, and the food. As for the future? I hope to contribute more to the Napoli club and the Danish national team."
