Nigeria international striker and Coventry City forward Taiwo Awoniyi has successfully graduated from the PFA Business School in England, earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sports Management with a Merit classification.

The executive education programme, delivered in partnership with the University of Portsmouth, is designed for active professional athletes and provides specialized knowledge in sports administration, executive strategy, and sports governance.
Awoniyi shared photos from his graduation ceremony on social media and reflected on balancing top-level football with higher education:
"For me, this is another proud moment away from the pitch. I have graduated from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sports Management, achieving a Merit grade. I have always believed that being a footballer shouldn't stop you from being a student of the game, and education has become an important part of that journey for me. Thank you to everyone at the PFA Business School, the lecturers, and my colleagues I had the opportunity to learn alongside. And a special thank you to my family and friends for their encouragement and support throughout."
This is the third academic qualification Awoniyi has obtained. He previously earned a Diploma in Business and Marketing from the London International Business School and also completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Management at Buckinghamshire New University.

Despite competing at a high level in professional football, the Nigerian striker successfully completed the two-year executive programme, laying the groundwork for a future transition into football administration, with ambitions of becoming a sporting director or taking on other football management roles after his playing career comes to an end.
