Martin Perelman urged Orlando City SC to "continue being strong" as they look to bounce back from their U.S. Open Cup exit against the New England Revolution.

Orlando were knocked out of the U.S. Open Cup semi-finals by the Columbus Crew, suffering a 2-1 loss on Wednesday.

However, their attention now turns back to MLS, where they are looking to reach the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season – they currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference with 34 points.

They are unbeaten in their last five matches in the league (W4 D1), winning each of the last three, including a comfortable 3-0 victory over Toronto FC last time out.

And Perelman wants to continue building on that form by quickly putting the loss to Columbus behind them.

"We need to digest [the loss] and go through that pain and process as quickly as possible," Perelman said. "It's a hard one.

"It's about embracing that process, doing it as fast as possible, because we have a quick turnaround and the team is on a good pathway in the league, and we need to return to that.

"We will continue being strong, knowing that there's a lot of time to go in the league and that we want to compete, perform and win."

New England, meanwhile, are third in the East, with 43 points, and a win on Saturday would take them into second, with Inter Miami not playing until the following day.

The Revs have lost just one of their last six league games (W4 D1) but have won each of their last two outings 2-1 against New York City FC and the Chicago Fire, respectively.

Joshua Wynder has recently joined New England on loan from Benfica, having worked with head coach Marko Mitrovic in the youth levels of the United States national team.

And he believes the coach is the key to getting the best out of the group.

"I think [Mitrovic] is just a coach that holds you to high standards," Wynder said.

"He makes you the best player and person both on and off the field. I think that is what people need to keep developing and get to the highest level you want to be at."

New England Revolution – Dor Turgeman

Dor Turgeman had a goal and an assist in New England's win on Sunday, with the goal his fifth since returning from the World Cup break, equaling Carles Gil for the most in the club during that time.

New England are one of six teams with multiple players with five or more goals since returning from the World Cup break.

Orlando City SC – Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann has scored in five consecutive regular-season matches, becoming the second player in Orlando history to do so, along with Dom Dwyer in 2017.

The Frenchman has been involved in at least one goal in eight of his first 10 career MLS matches, totaling eight goals and three assists.

Orlando have won five of their last six matches against New England (D1), including a 4-3 road win in the fourth round of this year's U.S. Open Cup.

Prior to the last six matches, Orlando had recorded just three wins in 18 against the Revolution in all competitions (D7 L8).

Despite that, New England are the favourites to prevail on Saturday, given they have won three of their last four regular-season matches, including the last two in a row, with all four coming on the road.

The Revs are winless in two straight at home, though, and have just two wins in six at Gillette Stadium since mid-May (D2 L2) after winning their first six home league matches of the year.

Meanwhile, Orlando have won three straight regular-season matches for the first time this year following a 3-0 win over Toronto. They have collected 20 points since returning from the World Cup break (W6 D2 L2), with only four teams earning more in that time.
