On talkSPORT, O'Hara claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could win the Bundesliga and compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona for the La Liga title.

This bold statement came after Premier League teams achieved a clean sweep of victories in European competitions this week, which O'Hara used to illustrate just how strong England's top league is.

Last week, the Champions League resumed, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Manchester United all securing wins. This week, the Europa League took center stage, with Sunderland, AFC Bournemouth, and Crystal Palace all achieving relatively comfortable victories.

Tottenham has struggled this season, and they finished 17th in the previous two consecutive seasons.

However, O'Hara believes that, thanks to the overall strength of the Premier League, Tottenham could win the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, and be in contention for the La Liga title.

O'Hara stated: "The Premier League is like a super league. Nobody can compete with it."

The host, Cundy, then asked O'Hara where he thought Tottenham would rank in the Bundesliga.

O'Hara replied: "I would say second, but they would compete with Bayern Munich for the title. In Ligue 1, it would be Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham fighting for the title, and in La Liga, it would be a three-team race. I say Tottenham because I'm a Tottenham fan, but I also think AFC Bournemouth would be the same.

"Tottenham could 100% win the Bundesliga. You just have to beat Bayern Munich, that's it. In La Liga, it's a three-team race, and that's a testament to how strong the Premier League is."

Cundy then asked about Atlético Madrid, who knocked Tottenham out of the Champions League last season.

O'Hara replied: "They are awful. They are not good at all. They only look good because they play in a bad league. We would 100% finish third in La Liga. I don't think there's anything ridiculous about what I'm saying. The Premier League is too strong for all the other leagues. I watched Milan play the other night, and they were absolutely terrible. I'm telling you, we would easily beat other teams in Europe. European football is bad; their level is far from good enough. It makes no sense. The Europa League is boring, and English teams will go all the way to the final."

Transfer Spending

The financial strength of the Premier League is evident in transfer spending this summer. This is not a new trend, as all Premier League teams spend heavily to achieve their goals in the English top flight.

However, the actual numbers are quite astonishing. Over the past five seasons, the Premier League's net spend has reached £5.5 billion. In contrast, Serie A and La Liga's net spending were £815 million and £121 million respectively.
