According to journalist Schira, Italy head coach Roberto Mancini has called up Bologna goalkeeper Massimo Pessina (born in 2007) to the Italian national team for the upcoming Nations League matches.

Pessina, a Bologna youth academy goalkeeper born in 2007, made 4 Serie A appearances in the 2024/25 season, starting in 3 of them for a total of 352 minutes as the team's second-choice goalkeeper. He kept clean sheets in his first 3 matches but conceded 2 goals against Roma in his final appearance.
