The 19-year-old currently has a contract with Barcelona expiring in 2029. This season, he has made 7 appearances for the team, including 3 starts, and provided 2 assists.

According to Romano, Bernal has agreed to sign a new contract through June 2031. Barcelona's director Deco and the player's agent finalized the agreement. The signing is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, with Bernal also set to receive an improved salary.
